UK Paratour ended 2 weeks ago and the post tour depression is finally kicking in. I still can’t get over the tour and looking back now, it was honestly the best 2 weeks of my life! This was the first time I did the whole tour, I have always wanted too, ever since 2008, when I was 16 and only allowed to go to one show. But this year it all worked out and I managed to get the time off work (yawn).
I was planning on doing the whole tour alone, scary but I was happy to be a lone ranger. But after the Paramore show in April happened, I made some really cool friends, one of them being Alice (iTunes Alice or #AliceParamore lol) We became friends and knew that we had to do the tour together!
4 months passed and we left for tour! We started off at Manchester, where we made friends with Jodie, Kat, Jennie, Tiff & loads more awesome guys! We instantly became a ‘parafamily’ and with out even saying it, knew that we all wanted to do the full tour together!
After the first show and 2 hours sleep we arrived in Cardiff for the best day of my life, the photo above explains all. Even though when Hayley asked me my name I screamed ‘MATT GUYS’, I was so nervous/in shock!
Over the next 3 shows we all became such a close group of friends, looking after each other, getting paratour tattoo’s, having huge group hugs when someone left the tour.
The last show at Wembley stands out as the most special of all, not because we were looking after the actresses in the Daydreaming video in the crowd (Even though that was amazing and means my sweaty face will be in the music video), the most special moment, emo time, was when we all had a giant group hug outside the venue, we had all just been through the best times of our lives and experienced so much together.
I can’t even believe that I get to have all those memories, I don’t know how or why I was so lucky to have this happen to me. All I know is that Paramore will always be my favourite band and that they and all my friends from tour will be with me forever.
